Various level crossings have been closed and replaced by this bridleway bridge between Trimley and Felixstowe, as part of a scheme to provide extra track for container trains.

A fairly new cycle link on Hopehill Road, including some new green space created by shortening the former carriageway on this side of the closure.

A dropped kerb in the middle of the end of the road would be preferable to one at the side, not least due to the obstruction of the columns and tactiles next to them. The path to the left leads to the Garscube Landscape Link #23797. UPDA ... [more]

  • Icon 152117 Path needs redoing all in the pound then it will be wider for distancing as at the moment its akl over grown with grass
  • Icon 152116 Path isn't very wide especially when walking down there with children and on Sundays it is the only way to get to flitwick from Westoning as there are no buses.
  • Icon 152115 There is only school on that road. No other buildings. With a lot of kids and parents on the drop off and pick up it’s hard to keep social distance without waiting on the street. Also during the school hours kids need to cross this road going to the school play field. Please consider to close the road to keep everyone safe.

  • Icon 152112 It is often not wide enough (even when the vegetation is cut back. The camber of the pavement also makes it hard for wheelchairs and buggies to negotiate safely. The crossing at Flitvale garden centre also needs to be safer, maybe with a pedestrian island/sanctuary. In all honesty, a lot of commuters, school children and locals, in general, walk all the way from Westoning into Flitwick. The whole path would benefit from widening to make a cycling and pedestrian path. The road is quite horrible for cyclists to safely use; as drivers often overtake dangerously (we live on this road and witness it regularly, most worryingly, through the S-bend at Flitvale).

  • Icon 152110 This road should be pedestrianised as a matter of urgency. Currently due to covid restrictions parents have to wait in the road for their children as there is not enough pavement space to wait at a safe social distance. I see no reason why this cannot be a permanent fixture for the all round safety of the school and its pupils. The only entrances used on this road are for the schools purposes and it is only ever used to park on or as a cut through during rush hour. Permanent closure of Newstead Road should be treated as a matter of urgency!

  • Icon 152108 The pathway gets very busy in the morning daytime and evening with kids which need to catch trains to college Bedford or Luton mums walking off their baby bellies while given the baby fresh air and joggers on their daily runs I understand that the bridge may not be able to be widened but the path can it is dangerous as car van lorries etc speed along their even though it 40mph as the path is not wide enough you do feel unsafe as it feels like the cars are on top of you it is not always possible for parent to drive their children to the station as they have their own work commitments plus it just puts more traffic on the road first thing in the morning when it’s already congested
  • Icon 152107 No easy way of accessing the on pavement cycle way. Going against the flow of vehicular traffic on Jarrom Street causes confrontation, and isn't always safe (limited opportunities to pull over, not enough room for car and bicycle to safely pass each other with parked cars, cars turning into Jarrom Street not looking for cyclists coming from Jarrom Street), so I often go via Rydal Street and Eastern Boulevard, where motorists often try to overtake at the junction if one is slowing to turn up onto the cyclepath, and one does not have good visibility for vehicles coming around Upperton Road.
  • Icon 152106 Such a dangerous junction for cyclists....not improved by the recent works.
